Our services

“The form of a developing conversation often is the diagnosis and also the treatment.”
Robert Hobson, Forms of Feeling (1985)
What has always drawn me to psychotherapy is the complexity of being human. I am deeply curious about how we become who we are, the relationships that shape us, and the ways we learn to adapt, protect ourselves and find belonging.
My approach draws on psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychosynthesis and relational, trauma-informed practice. I believe therapy is not simply about understanding what has happened to us, but exploring how those experiences have shaped our inner world, our relationships and our sense of self.
I am particularly interested in the space between our conscious understanding and unconscious patterns, between the parts of ourselves that have learned to survive and those seeking expression, connection and growth.
For me, psychotherapy is a deeply individual and collaborative process. It is about making sense of our experiences, integrating the different parts of ourselves and developing greater freedom to live with awareness, authenticity and choice.

Individualised care. Thoughtful therapy. Meaningful change.
We believe therapy should adapt to the individual, not the other way around.
At Blossoming Minds Therapy, we take time to understand the person beyond their presenting concerns. Our clinicians consider psychological, relational, developmental, cultural and systemic influences to develop a therapeutic approach tailored to each client's needs.
We recognise that meaningful change often requires looking beyond symptoms to understand the experiences, relationships and patterns that sustain them.

For when a few sessions only scratched the surface. Psychotherapy goes deeper than coping strategies: together we look at where your patterns began, and how past experiences shape the way you feel, think and relate today.
Sessions are tailored to you, from around 30 minutes of focused work to two hours, with no set number of sessions. We check in with you regularly that the work still feels right.
We see clients at our Bella Vista clinic in Norwest, for people across the Hills District, and in North Sydney, for people living and working on the Lower North Shore.
• Relationship and attachment patterns that keep repeating
• Anxiety and panic with trauma underneath
• Difficulties with emotional regulation and behaviour

Complex trauma often grows from experiences that happened over time, sometimes from childhood, and can shape how safe you feel in your body, your relationships and the world around you. Our clinicians are experienced in complex trauma and PTSD, including for people who haven't been helped by brief or standard approaches, and we work at a pace that feels safe for you.
Trauma therapy is available at both our Bella Vista and North Sydney clinics.
If you have experienced domestic, family or sexual violence, including coercive control, you deserve care that is safe, unhurried and on your terms. Recovery here is about feeling the autonomy that has always been yours. We support survivors from across the Hills District, North Sydney and wider NSW.
If a phone call doesn't feel safe, you're welcome to text or email us instead. If you may be eligible for the NSW Victims Support Scheme, we can help you apply.
We are not a crisis service. If you are in danger, call 000, or contact 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732.

Understanding the system
We see relationships as dynamic systems, shaped by each person's history, attachment experiences, emotional responses and ways of relating.
Our couples and family work goes beyond communication strategies to explore the deeper patterns influencing connection, conflict and emotional safety.
Depending on clinical assessment, we may offer a combination of individual and joint sessions, creating space to understand each person's internal experience alongside the dynamics of the relationship.
This allows us to explore not only what happens between people, but what each person brings into the relationship, how patterns develop and what meaningful change might require.
Couples and family therapy is available at both our Bella Vista and North Sydney clinics.
“The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.”
Esther Perel
Understand the patterns between you, not just the arguments, and find steadier ways to be close.
Support for young people, with parent sessions alongside, including students facing HSC stress.
Work together as a whole family or with a clinician each, including adult children working through their relationship with their parents.
Our philosophy is simple: we do not just work with the problem presented. We seek to understand the person, the relationships and the systems surrounding it.

Neurodivergent-affirming care starts from respect for how your mind works, rather than trying to change who you are. Our neurodivergent specialist works with children, adolescents and adults, at a pace and in a way that fits your sensory and communication needs.
If you have NDIS funding, we can talk through whether it may apply to your sessions. Read about help paying for your sessions.
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy is available at our Bella Vista and North Sydney clinics.
Therapy that works with how your attention, energy and focus move, building understanding and self-compassion rather than trying to fit you into a mould.
Affirming therapy for autistic children, adolescents and adults, shaped around your communication style and what feels safe for you.
Sessions adapted to your sensory needs, with adjustments to pace and environment where we can, so therapy feels comfortable.
Making sense of anxiety that can grow from navigating a world not built for how your mind works, and finding steadier ground.
Many people don't know what support they may be eligible for. On your first call, we talk through which pathways may apply to you. With your consent, our team then prepares the application with you, so the paperwork isn't yours alone. We help people from across the Hills District, North Sydney and wider NSW with their applications.
Where funding applies, we wait until it is approved before your funded sessions are billed.
